New wheelset, strong, 26, QR front

Have a friend who’s getting into MTBing. Has just totalled his front wheel jumping – so replace both of just the broken front ? He’s mid 20’s and a fine snow boarder and keen to develop his riding, 90kg+. He has a 26″ FS so no point IMHO spending too much. Hope Hoops is what I have but at £300+ was thinking there might be a better buy as putting money into his 26 probably not sensible as I can see a new 275 on the horizon at some point

I have suggested he signs up to STW

2nd hand hoops arch or flows <£200 or superstar AMX <£200 new

Not spending too much = £300?

Get a DH rim on some shimano hub for the front, same rear.

Novatec hubs are solid – built on stans rims they’ll go for way less then the equivalent hope hoops, and there were loads on ebay last time I was looking. Picked up a flow / arch combination, 26, for £110 IIRC.
