Well you say that northwind but the i25 KOM is the exact same weight as the XM in the same width. The 481 is the same build strength just wider than both. So based on what width Chris wants it’s still possibly a relevant choice I would think

He’s asked for 24-27mm, the XM481 is wider than that so I’m not sure what you mean there. The 481’s a great rim but it’s not the right option here. The 421 is exactly the sort of rim I’m talking about though.

(I mentioned the KOM in particular because of that bikestacja 260 euro wheelset I linked. I think the 421’s too new to find such good value options)

Going by mboy’s comments, I think I’ll be fine with an i25 or an XM 421 over a wider rim. These won’t be for my Mega and as Northwind says that’ll be the bike that gets picked for “big” duties so a midweight rim should be fine.
