I have looked on Chain reaction but is there more specialist places? Looking to build my first set of wheels so want to choose nipples/spokes carefully!

    Thanks

CRC are about cheapest for spokes, ime – they’ll help with lengths if what you’re using is a standard build for them – if not the DTSwiss calculator is good.

for hubs and rims shop around for cheapest version of what you want.

do bear in mind that places like merlin might offer the compenents that you want, pre-built, for about the same price (or less) than you could buy them separatly.

Thanks for the help. I want to build them myself, just for the hell of it (I do everything else myself) I will have a look at superstar as I had forgot them

I took the same route robilly, wanted to build the wheels ‘just because’.

I’d still see what the same build from MErlin would cost vs the parts you want – you can always dismantle a ready built wheel and start again 😉

    CRC for DT Swiss spokes

Spa Cycles for Sapim spokes (more length options)

DT’s spoke length caclutor used to be the best, till they took out all the hub and rim specs, now use this http://lenni.info/edd/

Whatever you do, it will almost always be cheaper to buy a complete wheel from say Merlin / CRC, but if you build them yourself, you can only blame yourself if they fail.
