SDG all the way. Spoon not bad, but I love the bel air. Gobi was horrendous.

    HTH!

Years of long-distance motorbike riding has left me with a cast-iron bum, so the Charge Knife graces most of my bikes- light, tough, not too expensive, and surprisingly comfortable (I don’t wear chamois either).

And the road bike’s got one of those Ragley titanium rail saddles, just because it was lying around- quite nice too but not as well shaped.

Was on a Spoon for a good 18 months, started becoming really uncomfortable, now on a Bel Air and like it, just need to move it forward a bit.

The Bel Air is well comfy I wouldn’t see any reason to change. Although the red/black 2011 version on my hardtail feels harder than the black 2010 that I used to have on there and the black/snow camo 2011 that I have on the bouncer. 😐

    SDG Bel Air I-beam.

I’ve no idea why more people don’t use ibeam posts / saddles. Great way to reduce weight without spending a fortune and the adjustability / simplicity is great.

Spoons are OK but they go soft pretty quickly.

    Toupe/Phenom is my current fave.

And I have a lovely Brooks B17 on the tourer

Because there is a very limited choice of saddle and seatpost and there’s more than enough adjustability in a standard setup which, once adjusted, never really needs changed.

Just changed from a SDG FX I beam to a Gobi XM when I got the Reverb post. So far I’m liking the Fizik offering. Very comfortable, and so far more durable than it looks.

If it wasn’t for the fact that 3/4s of all the ibeams I’ve ever seen ended up with the tops broken off, I guess I’d be more tempted. Oh, that and the howls of pain from optimistic Ifly owners.

Spesh Toupe on the road bike
    Spesh Alias on the 29er
WTB Pure V SLT on the full bouncer
WTB Pure V on the C456

Though the Alias might come off and be replaced with a Pure V SLT, as they are my favourite.

bell air ti on one bike, ragley whatever on the other. SDG is better, ragley is ok but shorts hang up on the back of it. Had a WTB devo which was great but they’re pricey.

Liked my sdg bel air then changed to a charge spoon hated that saddle with a passion it really didn’t fit me i guess.

Now have a gobi cheap from merlin, 33 quid with discounts 🙂 broke it in over long mynd and hopwood last week and i have to say im impressed, nice and comfy.

Bell air too wide for my skinny ass so using a Gobi now which is fine.
