at the moment the sister-in-laws GT palomar coz it's all I've got

My Soul, partly because it's my only good bike but mainly because it does everything I want it to do. Right now it's rigid forked and just shy of 23lbs for snow XC goodness and commuting, last year it had revs and a gravity dropper and went down the fort william DH course. Never feels like too much or too little bike, just spot on for me.

(it's my only good bike, but only because it makes everything else I ride feel a bit daft, I have a perfectly good GT Idrive 5 in the garage which I've ridden twice because every single ride, I'd sooner ride the Soul)

I have a soft spot for my Revolution Courier as well, it's a proper old fashioned bike, tough and practical and looks like it was built in a shed.

My 2001 GT Zaskar team, because it looks as fast as it rides!

Orange 5AM Built simple But tough and always gets me back regardless where I take it.
With simple do it yourself pivot bearing change and very low maintainance
and a super stiff frame.

Love my Santa cruz bullit, weighs a ton but its like a magic carpet the way it soaks up everything, climbs like a good un and generally all round burly mentalist machine..

94 kona kula. easton ultralite race frame, slack angles, 23lbs in current guise, really top notch. Done commuting and race duties too!

2005 Whyte 19. People bang on about 'steel being real' and so forth, but my bike makes me look twice the rider I am. Easy to convert to SS, practical fork range, and really good looking. Other bikes come and go, but I'll always keep my Whyte.

Its got to be my Intense 951…riding DH on this the best fun I can have on 2 wheels.

Intense 66 followed by Intense 55. The 55 is a bit lighter so better on the way up, the 66 better on the way down, but they're both LOVELY! TALAS forks and VPP, a partnership made in heaven. As for the future, the Uzzi looks rather nice, but I think that would take the wife's patience beyond breaking strain.

Probably my marin mount vision 2009 frame, with a 2010 fox rear boost valve jobbo shock that's been built up into a 25.5lb trail bike. light enough for moshing up big mountains, boingly enough for hammering back down and stiffer than corpse after a viagra overdose.

the best bike I've ever had is my voodoo sobo, super light, super fast, makes every ride into a flat out charge as it just won't let you bimble.

Awesome ride, out of this world despite it being incredibly basic mechanically.
Promises nothing much and delivers more than any other bike I have owned or ridden. There is some crazy magic in those 853 tubes.

Never let me down, great xc or road ride and only chain rings were warn after same chain for 8yrs and no servicing but I did learn. Solid and 28lbs so much fun sniff sniff… :*(

I guess thats why people still buy cromo -heavier but a better ride than some other materials out there.

For me it's still me 2003 Epic. It's agile, light and always makes me ride faster than any other bike.

My Sunn Exact. Quality hardtail, with perfect geometry, comfortable and fast – suits me perfectly. Six years old – which is a record for me. I keep thinking I should "upgrade" to a carbon XTC or a Kula Deluxe or summit, but really – are they any better?

my 1990 claud butler spectra 500lx rode it to hell and back wish i could find one.it got me into mountain biking in a big way plus my couson helped.while our friends were in the pub we would be in the woods

456Ti – full XTR and a couple of builds depending on terrain and/or usage; weight varies from 24-28lbs depending on forks/wheels/tyres etc

I rather like my Nicolai Helius CC, it just does everything I ask of it from woody single track rides to descending big mountains in Wales.

But in reality it's probably my Boardman hybrid comp. as I ride to work and back every day

My Nicolai helius ST – if I happen to walk past it I can't help but stand and stare for daft amounts of time, Plus it rides absolutely perfect, perfect geometry, loads of travel without any wallow or drama, feels bomb proof, perfect welds, Fire Engine red with glitter…

My Turner 5 Spot if I had to pick one. The whole package was well sorted, 140mm Vans up front and a DHX Coil rear with a ti spring set dead right for my weight. Brilliant ride and found out how good it was when I didn't have it any longer- as usual lol. All the other long travel FS bikes just couldn't match it for it's all round abilities. It was the older 2005 HL version, one of the very last and I would love to get another.

its been so good i bult another with a new 08 front end (inc superb service from turner usa), s/h 03 seatstays, s/h 04 chainstays and push rockers so i now have two, one xc one am,

At the moment it's my Kona Howler. It's my least bling bike (got a hardtail and another FS) and is mostly made up of 2nd hand or hand me down parts, but it's just so much fun! it's got 1×9 gearing and I can pop in my burly wheels and go uplifting at Cwm Carn or put my light wheels in and go and have fun locally or at the trail centres. In fact, if I could only have one bike this would be it. It's now got Pikes on the front.
