Im in the market for a new seatpost and have seen a few Ritchey ones in my price range.

What should i be looking for? 2 bolt or 1?

I just want a strong seatpost where the clamp actually clamps the rails and doesn't loosen every 5 minutes like the waste of space Giant seatpost i have.

I've got one of the cheapest two bolt ones.
it's been on my commuter for 8 months quietly holding my saddle where i like it.
It's a simple post. Not much else to say about it.

Think i paid 12 quid on crc for one.

I have a cheap Ritchey Comp Seatpost 2 bolt that came with the bike-cheap, not heavy and does the job.

Will be upgraded in a few months of riding.

Cheap and cheerful good quality seatpost.

I also have a cheap 2-bolt Ritchey seatpost and it does a Sterling job.

You have to do the bolts up fairly tight to ensure your saddle won't budge if you hit a bump while seated, but it's no worse than any other seatposts I've tried in this area – and definitely much better than all single bolt ones.

got the wcs – ignore the torque settings which was 4nm …. other wise the saddle would move …

just did the bolt up till i felt it was tight enough – problem solved

    – nice one ritchey invalidate the warrenty by putting a silly low torque setting on it where by my 12 stone sitting on it would make it move :s

I've got one of the 2-bolt WCS posts on my Roadrat and it seems nice enough.

Should probably have added that since nearly the whole ritchey range is wcs now …. mines was the carbon wcs – the more expensive of the 2 carbon models ……i guess in the quest for light weight they couldnt put a good clamp on it haha

Probably in Aug/Sept when I am 10kg lighter and buy a carbon or ultralight aluminum. Might keep this one to wack into the service stand or sell on the frame -sorry.

See if Evans are still selling them cheap in their sale?
Chuck a wanted addy in classifieds-someone will have something!

I used to have a WCS carbon, and it was fine, never slipped, although I suspect I had it torqued to significantly more than 4nm, as trail_rat I just nipped it up until it was sensibly tight!
