Any recommendations for a Sleeping Bag & Sleeping pad for the TransRockies.

Bearing in mind I live in the Caribbean and am used to it being fairly warm all year round.

Camped at Jasper last July/August. Very hot during the day, very cool on the eve/night. I used a one season synthetic bag – Wild country Yukon and was plenty warm enough.

We used 3 season down bags in September a few years back. Mind you it was snowing on the mountains over night.

Chuck a silk liner in along with the down bag and that should see you right to silly low temperatures.

I've spent about 8 months under canvas/in bivi bag in the Rockies near Calgary over the summer months and I only ever used a 3 season ancient Eurohike with a home made polartec 100 liner and a 3/4 length lightweight thermarest. These were the best nights sleep I've ever had.
