Just inexpertly repacked mine with grease. My drive-side bearings were nice and snug, and shiny. My non-drive side were loose and corroded. Is this what typically happens?

If and when it happens its the nearside, it has less protection from the elements…ie the chainset.

NDS. Just stripped the bike for it's winter service. DS is perfect but the NDS needed some regreasing. It's an XTR BB so the DS has the seal on the cranks pulled onto it whereas the NDS just has a preload ring tightened onto it.

Non-drive side every time. Stands to reason that it's far more exposed to the filth and possible over-exuberant cleaning.

It's always the non drive side. Based on personal experience and what my LBS says.

Drive side last time but it was an FSA BB so probably never had any grease in anyway 😉
