Admiral Rodney, from St. Lucia is my favorite.
Fits 2 out of your 3 criteria at least.

Havana 3, coke from the fridge, ice and a big chunk of lime. Heaven.

Havana Club grand reserve, but also Bacardi do a grand reserve Dark rum as well – tis very nice. Mount Gay stuff is good too.. Depends if you want a spicy one really, i’m not a massive fan of them, but then only tried a couple.

How favorite? Are you into your rum? £40 won’t kill I suppose and it’ll last me a good few months.

    Havana Club grand reserve

    I just google shopping’ed this 😯

Not massively. I have never spent more than £40 on a bottle.
I have bought a few bottles of Havana 7, Mount Gay, cheaper stuff over the years, but have tended to end up mixing it.

Admiral Rodney is just so smooth, and balanced, I’m on my 4th consecutive bottle now without even looking to buy a single malt. I should probably try something new, but don’t feel the need just yet.

(those 4 bottles are over 3 years by the way, so no need to get concerned about my drinking habits 🙂 )

Eldorado 15 is where it’s at. Stumbled across this earlier in the year in Trinidad, goes well with Richards Shark and bake

Whatever rum it is, never put anything but more rum in it, apart from ice if you have to– a good rum don’t need destroying with pop 😯

Thanks peeps. Think I’m going to start with a Havana Club. The bottles look good, it mostly isn’t too expensive and it sounds suitably exotic. There will not be any pop being added, rest assured.
    Now; which one?

    Don’t do it wrecker, this

    Chairman’s Selection, St Lucia
    Mount Gay XO, Barbados

…if smoother. If its cash you’re worried about I can get the latter er, imported at select dates through the year at local pricies

The Bacardi 8 I’ve got in my hand right now ain’t bad though.

WtF CFH, don’t you know what time it is.

Oh and wrecker, Rum always tastes better in its country of origin, although travelling there might up the cost a tad…

    Bear? Grrrrr

Seriously GB and Rum is a match in heaven. The GB isn’t too sweet (like coke) so you can enjoy the rum’s sweetness.

That took some doing. I don’t recommend anyone search “ginger bear” on google images. You have been warned.

I once searched ‘bears’ and apparently theres a pornstar called the Bear? (Questionmark as I quickly hit off the google images when I realised what was brought up)

If it’s Havanna Club you are going for, the 3 anos is okay with coke. The 7 anos is nicer, but I would still rather mix it than drink it straight.

And Admiral Rodney is wayyy nicer than Chairman’s Reserve (in my opinion of course).

Got some chairmans reserve. I don’t think I like it. It’s a bit too whisky – like. Wish I’d gone for the Havana club or spiced kraken now. 😐
