    I’ve got some stans flow rims on superstar evo hubs that came with superstar rim tape what’s crap. So I’m going to replace it and was just wandering what would be best and what size to get? They are 22mm inside so do I buy 22mm tape or some just a little bit narrower? I’m running tubes not tubeless.

    Thanks

    If you’re running tubes, in what way is the rim tape not working??

    Look at the rim manufacturer’s website, find the model of rim and it’ll hopefully tell you what you need to know.

    You say Stan’s Flow, I found this that recommends 25mm, no idea if they’re the same flows as yours though;

    Here’s some others, they all seem to say 25mm too;

    Its baggy as hell, Constantly spins and moves side to side and gets trapped between the tire bead.

    If you’re after good ol’ proper rim tape and not running tubeless then there’s only one – Velox.

    The best by far. One fitted it’ll never, ever move.

    I see… I thought you meant superstar yellow tape..which is great!

    Velox – electrician’s tape will just wind you up as that can move and bunch up. But why not just go tubeless seeing as you’ve gone to the trouble of buying Stan’s rims?

    2″ wide gorilla tape, cut down the middle.

    Wrap it around and you’re ready for tubeless when the time comes! Excellent stuff.

    I have, however, also used masking tape before with no issues.
