Property Underwriter. I eff about with spreadsheets and catastrophe models in order to come up with a risk transfer premium for us paying for reinstatement of large multinationals' damaged buildings, contents, stock and resulting lost profits in the event that something wet, hot, shaky or windy comes to town (not an exhaustive list). And also come up with a structured programme that allows the right paper to be issued in the right countries that meets the client's needs and local regulations as efficiently as possible. And lunches. And risk engineering programmes to help reduce the chances and/or consequences of bad things happening.

Director of a biotech working in IVF. Extremely interesting and rewarding. Kinda varied too. Sitting in a lecture in Riyadh listening to a lecture and reading STW! Not great for doing enough MTBing though.

Telecoms Engineer (Yeh, I get to call myself an engineer despite only being educated to A Level/BTEC/HNC level
) I do fibre optics, and over the course of an average week, get to play with gennys, water pumps, fire, compressors and winches, then an hour later be gingerly poking fibres about with a plastic cocktail stick trying to avoid snapping a brittle fibre and taking a corporate big name offline. (Its always someone big and important that goes off, never a primary school or tiny cellsite
)P.S Officially I think I'm a technician, but most people will just accept I am an Engineer
