ok, i need to add a jacket to my wardrobe, i mean a smart jacket... a suit jacket!
Im quite a young 43 yr old, reasonably trendy but all my clothes are mostly from fat face, h&m etc.
I have a pair of dark fitted Gstar jeans that I only wear for best i.e. nights and meals out, just want some advice on a smart shirt, jacket to wear with these on nights out with the GF without me looking too old?
What colours/shirts to go for
Harris tweed if brownish jeans, Donegal tweed if black / grey

Get a suit man. Maybe a moleskin or something if you like less formal wear. Jacket and jeans is all a bit Rah if you ask me.

The jackets in M&S are bloody good these days, you could do worse than pop into a big branch wearing your jeans and try a load of them on.
Jeans and jacket is fine, but really only with a good shirt (white is best) or nice T-shirt (no meaningless logos etc)/jumper.

TK Maxx was my favoured hunting ground for suit jacket bargains when I worked in offices.
