    Cable actuated hydraulic brakes. Seen a couple of these on disc equipped road/gravel bikes.

    To my cynical mind this looks like a marketing wheeze to permit the description as “hydraulic” discs but without the expense of hydraulic STI levers.

    Am I wrong….

    IMO it’s a stop-gap solution and nothing else – has anyone developed a combined hydraulic brake, electronic shifting lever yet? I assume they’ll be a million quid of course.

    Shimano did ages ago. It’s the mechanical shifter / hydraulic brake that’s taken a while but they’re available now and bloody good.
