Yorkshire or Twinings everyday. I tried some Punjana recently which wasn't bad.

Punjana - if you like tea
Tetley - if you like dishwaterPosted 1 year ago # -
Yorkshire or Tetleys for me, no milk or sugar thanks!

Clipper or Yorkshire but I used to get Indian Prince from the co-op which was proper tea (is theft, I know, I know) don't know if its still around but what a lovely brew it was....
TeaPigs are ace especially the Chai, Chilli and summer flowers, worth every penny

Sainsbury's Red Label ... in the absence of Red Label proper tea leaves.

Clipper.
End of thread.

Apparently the best way to make a cup of tea is to agitate the bag. I find punching her in the face before I go into the kitchen works best.

Miles West Country Tea Bags are doing it for me at the moment. Such a nice change from Tetley/PG.

Tetley or Scottish Blend.
In PoundLand you get 100 Tetley for....you've guessed it....a pound.

Williamson's Duchess Grey, if you must know.

Don't be such a jessie. Tea drinkers have always marked themselves out on this forum by not going on for three pages like the coffee arses. Get some of this down you and stop talking about it...

Waitrose Assam

Tetley is like grey pisswater
Wrong. Tetley is good stuff.
Tried that Yorkshire tea and was less than impressed by it's strength. Weaker than Tetley if you ask me.
We're on a pack of Tetley Extra Strong at the mo and it's just not strong enough. Back to normal Tetley after.Posted 1 year ago # -
Assam here - Waitrose is good as is the Tesco 'Finest' or whatever it's called. Nice and strong.
There's always Steepster.com for the real tea obsessives.

Yorkshire here too
Tried loads of different versions over the years, but keeep coming back to Yorkshire.
Our little one managed to smash our 50 year old tea pot at the weekend!
Tea at our home will never taste the same again!

Twinings Everyday.
Tea drinkers have always marked themselves out on this forum by not going on for three pages like the coffee arses...
I'd like to think this is true although I'm sure a 'how to make the perfect cup of tea' could run to three pages+

M&S assam for me but I think the sainsbury's assam is pretty good too.
Yorkshire is OK too, in general it just has to have some flavour
Posted 1 year ago # -
Ok, ok, I'll join in. If you've been a coffee drinker predominantly, Assam is quite good - but can be expensive if bought on its own in pcb/CFH type boxes.
Here's a tea that contains a lot of Assam:

Tried some clipper and it's great - my new standard everyday tea.

Tend to by Twinings Everyday tea in the yellow box.
Used to buy Sainsbury's Red Label and that's pretty good. Don't know if it's just 'cos that's what my mum always used to buy, so the flavour had 20 years or so to ingrain itself!

I like Twinings Lady Grey. Very tasty and not too strong.
One bag makes two nice mugfuls in a teapot.

Jacksons of Piccadilly fairtrade - same price as Clipper but a much nicer taste. Clipper and Twinings everyday teabags are ok as a second choice but never the M&S gold label - they have a funny smell about them.

We usually just have Typhoo. Tastes fine to me and better than Twinings Everyday, PG Tips etc.
I also like Twinings Ceylon or Assam. Teapigs is really good but expensive.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Try all of the above and then you'll go back to PG.

Depends where you live and what the waters like, used to like pg when I lived up north but when I moved down south it's not the same, waitrose everyday is nicer down here (hard water) but up north (soft water) it's rubbish

Twinnings Everyday mainly, but TeaPigs English Breakfast when I'm feeling decadent. Clipper and Coop Fairtrade are not too bad, but I always defer to Twinnings for general brewage.

Twinings Everyday usually. Very occasionally Yorkshire or Yorkshire Gold. Twinings Assam is excellent but too hardcore for me since I stopped having sugar. I find brewing time is critical - 3 minutes is usually best but it's worth experimenting.

Depends where you are and what type of water you have. Devon - almost anything tastes wonderful. Thames - I like Clipper and Yorkshire, but not Yorkhire Gold. Try changing the water first.
For real tea, Twinnings Darjeeling without milk...
Posted 1 year ago # -
as just mentioned above - for me, it entirely depends on the area and what the water is like. I've had good and bad experiences with Tetley.
Twinings everyday is very good in Sheffield
I just discovered it yesterday!!There is one universal rule which applies to Lancashire tea - it's rank, no matter where you have it. And I'm from Lancashire.
[EDIT] whatever you choose, make it in a tea pot!! Such a huge difference in taste.

Tetley is weak, like dish water
Yorkshire, while nice, a little thick for me

You obviously haven't tried it. (or are thinking of PG Tips)
