Top quality yet not overly expensive bike bits what last for ages and ages and ages.
Oh, and Shiny. Definitely Shiny.

I really like the fact that there's a good chance of getting to talk to the big boss when I phone for tech support.
(hubs too loud)

British kit that's ace
Posted 1 year ago # -
Beatifully made-in-UK bits of kit that don't seem to work quite as well as they should.

Manufacturer of bike bits that fall apart.
Posted 1 year ago # -
past their best, average image, couple of solid parts and good ideas, british, over-hyped like orange as a company.
Posted 1 year ago # -
quality stuff at a good price and british too, which is a bonus
i cant imagine looking elsewhere for brakes or hubs

A shining example for all the other no-hoper's [really no pun intended] in the UK cycle manufacturer circles

Good Quality Kit, fair priced, bomb proof warranty (a very rare commodity these days), shiney, hubs that are still too quiet

Quality stuff that last for ages and looks good too. I've got loads of hope stuff and not one thing has failed. I cracked one of disc bolt holes on an XC Hub during a crash, they offered to replace the hub for free.

Carfted engineering in CNC delights
also awesome 24hr race team

Genuine/nice people that make good bike bits but stand by their products and offer decent backup/support (so Ive heard)

Great Kit & Customer Service.

Shonky kit
Hubs that explode, qrs that barely work, seat post qrs that break and brakes that don't
The warranty dept is efficient because its so busy...Posted 1 year ago # -
I like the philosophy of everything being repairable not disposable. That costs but IMO its worth it

Good kit with great customer service even out of warranty.
Posted 1 year ago # -
well made and serviceable bits designed, tested and made half an hour down the road.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Excellent quality kit with awesome after sales service. (Not that I've needed much of that cos everything I've used has been ace.)

Bike company. Buy some of their stuff and buy none of their other stuff. Not bothered at all about the whole 'British' part.
Posted 1 year ago # -
nice hubs and headsets, awful qr's and seat clamps. Incredibly iffy light connectors.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Positive:
Made (as opposed to just designed) in Britain.
Very well made, infinitely rebuildable products.
Great after sales service.
Local.
British engineering-led success story.
Best hubs I've ever used.
Good value handbuilt wheels.
Nice to have a colour choice for components.Negative:
Brakes overheat and lack power.
Seat collar and Axle QR's could be better.
Lights are a bit pricey.Posted 1 year ago # -
The best Bottom brackets ever made> and they make them in shiny colours. unlike the chocolate ones made by shimano and FSA.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Brilliant home-grown components with unbeatable back up.

The best Bottom brackets ever made
I think you'll find the phil woods, and royce and far superior

Like them alot, lovely looking kit and fantastic backup. Have started to stray a little and try others components after being a bit disappointed with 1 year bearing life in my rear proII and the tech x2s feeling abit underpowered.
Really looking forward to their cranksets coming out, I really hope they are good.
Tell you what Hope, how about making a decent uppy downy post? There is still a chance there to jump into a new market no one has properly cornered it yet!

To OP - you been reading MBUK this month?
Quality well engineered products. I've got their skewers and seatclamps on all my bikes. I've owned a few hubs and they're lovely. They last for years (only killed mine by backing my car over the wheel - oops!) and i'm a fat lad with high ambitions and crap abilities - mine have all taken a whooping. The brakes are good I've gone from O2 to M4 Mono and loved them both. I had to upgrade to Saint because I got a deal on them that I could not refuse.
I love the fact that they're made in Britain too. I can't say anything for the lights / BBs / stems as I've never owned them.

Recently with my two year old M4s...When I go to the bike shed....
... I HOPE......
they haven't locked on again.....
BUT ABOUT EVERY TWO WEEKS THEY BLOODY HAVE.....
AND I'M B>>>>> pi^s??d ++f with them AAAAAA FFFFF Gain. That's with silicone lubricant etc.... Rebuild????? They weren't bloody cheap you know!!
I'd continue to buy their headsets though, never had a problem with them although I generaly don't use their headdoctors.... and...on balance...cos I know they ain't perfect...cracks above spoke holes etc..... their hubs aswell, cos they are better than the incredible undoing shimano and the leter in of as much water as possible DTs.
