I have my suspension units away at the moment and have been loving riding my HT.

This has got me thinking about a ‘hardcore’ HT and I fancy a Buzzard but can’t find the Singular Cycles webpage.

Looking for 29er, steel, up to 140mm fork and short chainstays… if the Buzzard is no more what are my options?

2 Souls Quarterhorse is worth a look.

Can’t find the Singular website either. That’s a bit weird!

Candodavid of this parish has a 2souls quarterhorse.

I have ridden it twice and jostled with full sussers at the front of the pack on both occasions. I can only describe it as a hardtail full suspension bike, which I realise is some what nonsensical. Both those that have ridden them will understand.

It’s also the reason I’ve split and sold my Solaris, so I can save for one this Autumn.

it doesn’t seem to come up very high on a google search but typing the url directly works.

    [edit]

    You lose at the interweb

you lose at being first to post a link 😉

    [edit2] damn the edit facility.

No, it’s odd – not showing in Google.

There was some sort of malware a while back on the website, Google may have dropped it down the rankings because of it.

Cheers for the link… funny how I can’t get it through google.

My first choice would be a 2Souls Quarterhorse but cost is an issue. I see there is a SlimJim going secondhand at the moment but I want tyre clearance and dropper compatibility.

I’ll be selling my medium Honzo soon – replacing it with a Zealous Division.

Email in profile if this is of interest?

As far as I can tell from the geometry charts the only difference between the Solaris and the 2souls is the shorter chainstays. Does that really make that much difference?

The 2Souls is cooler. That is not obvious from the geometry charts.

    🙂

Ummm… that Zealous looks good and it has 142×12 which was the only downside to the Buzzard.

Would like to know what it weighs…

    I’ll tell you next week.

    Canfield Yelli Screamy.

Not steel (I have one), the steel equivalent is the Nimble 9.

The Yelli’s great though, my go-to bike nowadays.

Canfields are double the price of a Buzzard though.

@scienceofficer, is the QH heavy? Lightness vs steel is a Yelli upside.

Even as a firm 26″ wheel rider that QH looks ace – something like that could tempt me into the dark side

The Ti version is lovely 🙂

And, yes, the short chainstays do make that much difference.

The QH is 0.5lb heavier has much better standover, is stiffer, has ISCG compatibility and crucially for me, can clear a Hans dampf or similar on the rear. Tyre clearance on the Solaris is not as good as claimed and it can’t handle a 140mm fork.

I like the Solaris a lot, but it limited my choices a bit. If it could clear a bigger rear tyre I would have kept it.

The QH looks much awsumer too.
