Since dislocating my shoulder in feb, I find I now put more pressure onto my right arm whilst riding. This is ok on the mountain bike, but on the road bike I’m getting a lot of pain/tingling in the thenar region of my thumb. I’m using Aldi gel fingerless gloves. Would better gloves make any difference, or is it just a case of mtfu and put less pressure on that hand?

    Any recommendations?

I’ve got some gel ones too and find them uncomfortable. I’m fine without any gloves though so I’ve gone for some cheap leather un-padded mitts

Thanks, I’ll give it a try with no gloves and see if that maybe helps!

Bulky gel gloves can be just as uncomfortable as no padding at all sometimes. The Sepcialized BG gloves with the small ulnar nerve gel pad may well be worth a look. I’ve always found them very comfy.

Some Giro gloves have a similar gel pad too and they’re very very comfy – my current faves. Quite a bit more than Aldi gloves I suspect though 😉
