  • What girlie bike for a three year old?

She’s got an islabikes rothan, but doesn’t like it because it’s not got pedals and isn’t pink/purple/white/etc. Mrs Bol thinks we should get her a hello kitty halfords special, but it sticks in my craw a bit. Any ideas?

Just get stickers for it. Halfords do some pink flowers.

    A second hand one.

I’ve already tried wrapping the rothan in pink vinyl. It’s the black bits she’s objecting to. I must admit the temptation to get her to just lump it is rather strong, but I want to encourage her to ride, even if she is a picky little sod.

I would be happy to go for a second hand one if there was one in her size within collecting distance of Norwich.

    Ridgeback MX16

Our daughter loves hers, it’s well made and pretty tough. Nice and light too.

We persuaded our pink-obsessed daughter onto her Cnoc by adding a little pink handlebar bag, which conveniently doubles as water bottle/snack/bike lock storage.

Her old bike, nowhere near as good of course, is available(piccy).

the Cnoc 14 has flashes of pink….

we added a pink cycle top and gloves and that persuaded her 8)

she was bothered about absolute pinkism during the decision process but once she had the bike itself she forgot about it. Such is the silliness of 3 year olds – as if I would be so sensitive to bike aesthetics….

We too had the Pink Ridgeback.

Now old enough (7) to not care about colour.

Way more bike than an islabike – check the weight

or if the colour isn’t girly enough, the 2010 ..

Thanks. Lots of good suggestions. I might just see if anyone’s got one in the classifieds before I shell out again.

Ridgeback Honey for my 3 year old also, great little bike. I’ve just bought her a Ridgeback Melody for her 5th birthday.

my 3 year old is getting one of these when she’s grown another cm or two. She’s seen it on t’web and loves the purople colour. I have been told Islabikes do a good p/x as well

nacho, Isla does offer p/x but you’re likely to get a better price selling privately.
