    Hi all

Can any one recommend a free software for the purposes of producing straightforward plan and elevation views for a small house extension?

    Cheers in advance!

In your situation I used Sketchup. It is very good but I found it very frustrating to learn as I found nothing intuitive about it at all.

I found it ok as it goes and I’ve not used CAD before – I used it for designing an attic extension.

I used sketchup, I found it miles easier than CAD but I’ve noticed CAD users tend to say the opposite.

Try it and see if it works for you.

Sketchup, BUT… go through the tutorials first. It will save you a huge amount of time later

pencil and paper is quick and easy. If you make a mess you can use a rubber.

much quicker too than learning a program
