What odd homely thing do you have to take with you on long trips for comfort?

A suitcase full of baked beans? A small jar of Marmite? Sachets of HP sauce? The Daily Mail?

Me…when they were still broadcasting more widely, was my little Shortwave radio, a penguin classic and a buff.

    You?

I have sent some ahead by post, before now. It’s not heavy, but quite bulky.

Tetley tea bags……..try getting a decent strong cup of tea in some god-forsaken semi-civilised foreign country. I also like to pack an umbrella. And my trusty folding Panama hat.

iPhone. Has music on it, has a camera on it, has an extensive library on it, and has OS maps of the whole of the South of England on it.
    A good pair of binoculars.
Anything else is whatever’s available locally.

I wouldn’t bother smuggling owt ‘recreational’ these days, with Paranoia Level on purple all the time. Used to be a doddle. Do remember getting a little perturbed in JFK once, with a very thorough sniffer dog paying close attention to my boxed up bike. Top Tip: Riding through dogshit just before going on a foreign trip can help throw the sniffer dogs off the scent… 😉

    I’m wondering ‘why the lube’?
Is that in case she (or he) doesn’t want to, but you do?

So it’s as I suspected…………..you haven’t got an unfeasibly large knob.

……just a dinky little one I dare say.
