So in the end I ordered the traxxas bandit xl5 , it came to £139 for the entire ready to run kit including a 4 amp fast charger, and 3000 mah battery.

I loved the engineering of something like the Cougar 2000 when it came out – what’s the equivalent type thing these days?

OK just reading this thread with interest as my 6yo wants a rc car for xmas. Was going to go for a Tamiya Monster Beetle or Wild Willy (80’s child here) but thinking these might be quite hard to control. That Traxxas bandit does look fun and a bit cheaper – anyone with experience of how it runs on grass (that hasn’t been mowed for a few weeks 😉

Just ordered a Traxxas bandit from Amazon warehouse for the 5/6 year old, was going to get a Rustler but this was a good deal (Might get myself the rustler!!) Loads of youtube videos which is what tempted me. Just annoying that you have to buy separately the UK DC to AC convertor for £20.
