My park tools ones have died (an undignified) death.

Anyone got any recommendations or seen any good offers out there?

    Thanks.

Apart from the Park tools cassette cleaner hook shaped brush and a grooved sponge which came with my fenwick’s foaming chain cleaner, everything else I use is non-bike specific and so much cheaper!

I just went to the local pound shop and bought a selection of brushes – they do the job as good as any bike specific ones without the inflated price tag.

But if you insist on ‘proper’ brushes, Rutland had some Christmas offers.

I get those real cheap paintbrushes from the local hardware superstore – you know, the ones that come in a set of different sizes, and are useless for painting, but are excellent for cleaning all the nooks & crannies 😯

Don’t last long mind, but at that price its cheap enuff to replace them every few months…

    Finish-Line 5-brush set.

Had 2 and they’re very good as far as brush sets go.

Washing up brush for most of the frame and a toothbrush for the hard2reach bits.

Toothbrushes are 2 for 30p in the supermarket.
Plain nylon bristles are fine, shaped rubber bits not necessary.

Rag (old pillowcases and sheets/duvet cover) for the cassette after the washing up brush.

Diesel/petrol to clean the chain and synthetic oil to lube it.

Can’t imagine this list will be popular with the bike shops tho’.

i agree….i’ve had mine for about 8 years and they’re still going strong.
    they’re quite cheap as well.
the other one to look at is the set from pedros

Muc Off kit without doubt the best I’ve ever had.
Park Tools one fell apart after few uses.

My favourite is the Finish Line kit, last years and more useful than the Muc Off set which is ok

Park claw thingy that came with the chain cleaner for the cassette and rings, Sainsbury’s washing up brush (with comfy grip handle no less) and an old toothbrush because they get among the front mech’s nooks.
