  • What bearings for Scott Spark 20 headset?

    Hi Chaps,

    I’m looking at buying a secondhand Spark 20 frame, which needs a headset – are the Spark 20 frames of the integrated type? And if so…. are they just standard sized? (The only integrated I’ve had was on my Whyte, which required custom bearing races).

    Cheers

    Sparks (and all scotts for that matter) use Integral (or ZS) headsets which have alu cups pressed inside the headtube. Hope, Ritchey and no doubt others make headsets to fit which are easy to obtain.

    So… errr…. one of these?

    Fit’s 46mm OD headtube… which is Ritchey compatible…

    Which fits a 45mm OD headtube and is the same size as the Hope Integrated headset…

    Might be worth inputting bike details into the ‘good ole’ Cane Creek headset finder and see what comes out;

    So… looks like Semi-integrated 44mm cups. Is this the same as a headset that is *for* 44mm headtube?

    Therefore a 43.95mm Hope headset would fit?

    Hope headset does indeed fit – running them on my Spark and Genius.

    Cheers Strike… is it a semi-integrated or an integrated?
