I need some ideas for things I can ask for for Christmas. I’ve been told that time on the bike / in the bike shed is not a sensible request, and I must have something physical to unwrap from under the tree.

so what cool stuff are you hoping to receive / have already bought and passed on to your nearest and dearest to wrap for you?

I’ve bought various small(ish) presents for friends kids which have all been wrapped and posted so as far as Christmas is concerned I’m done.

I’m struggling as I don’t need anything so I’ve asked for this Silca Premio seat pack from my son.

It’s not something I’d get round to buying myself as I don’t really need it but it looks nice 🙂

I think I’m getting a wolftoith remote. The wife is getting some Oakley racing rackets with a prizm lens.

My take on a Christmas gift is something I’d like but I think is a bit extravagant to spend my own money on. That doesn’t meant it has to be expensive, per se – but more you can get something much cheaper that does the same job, but maybe not quite as nice or neatly or whatever.

So, a Silca T-Ratchet maybe?

My wife and I have ‘bought’ each other half shares in an Echo (saving to go to Oz next year so not spending much on each other).

I have asked everyone else to club together to get me a new burr grinder (family have always liked to spend a little on each other and happy for this to continue). I am nowhere near righteous enough to say ‘there really isn’t anything I want, give the money to charity’ – I can always think of something I would quite like.

I am not having any things. I have asked for entry fees for audaxs and a train ticket to do some cycle touring for a few days

I get to name a donkey at the rescue centre.

Missing an espresso machine…

A bespoke sapele/mahogany hat rack to go on the wall.
loads of coat racks available but the pegs are too close together for proper hats so my folks furniture maker friend is making one.

i’m hoping for a huge Harris Tweed cushion if i drop enough hints.

I’m sat sitting in my genuine Eames chair, drinking my organic, locally sourced, hand-reared West Yorkshire custom-roasted coffee whilst wearing Flashy’s special shoes (don’t tell him, he doesn’t know) perusing my bespoke Japanese knives right now.
At this time of year it’s important to appreciate your material possessions and the feeling of a high quality, well balanced Japanese boner in the hand is amazing.
