I turned in my 10k PB when I was in my late 20’s (39m 52). I’m now 38 and when I train properly I can get pretty close to it. In fact I ran a 10k a couple of years ago within 30 secs of my PB and almost everyone ahead was older, which keeps me optimistic I can keep my speed if I work at it.

Question is, what age does the Vet category kick in for runners – is it 40? (just over a year’s time) I’m thinking that by keeping my speed I’ll be able to place much better just because the youngsters will be excluded 😉
