Fitted some Campag Zondas to my Defy last night (which my better half got me for my 40th), along with new cassette, chain, tyres and (latex) tubes. After riding on the stock Giant wheels for tyres for the last year could not believe the difference on the commute this morning.

I was expecting it to feel lighter and “different” but even just cruising along on the flats was infinitely easier (and faster).

The Zondas felt so responsive and the bike felt more alive (if such a thing is possible). A morning of PRs on Strava and a few fastest of the year to date!

I realise I’ll not have that feeling again now I’ve done my first ride, but I’m still buzzing. Just thought I’d share.
