I haven’t listened to all of them but blood on the tracks is mine at the moment, absolutely brilliant. It used to be blonde on blonde when that was the only one I had listened to. What now?

Id say either Bringing it all back home or blood on the tracks

Bringing it all back home shades it for me. Some of his best tracks however are stand out tracks on otherwise average albums – like Changing of the guard on Street Legal.

That Bootleg series double studio 65-66 (Bringing it all back home to Blonde on Blonde).

Or the live bootleg series one that straddles his folk-electric period (the one with ‘Judas!)… 😆

I have a soft spot for Street Legal. Definitely not his best album (for me that’s probably Bringing It All Back Home or Blood On The Tracks) but there’s something about it I love. And it’s worth trying to track down a bootleg of the Infidels sessions (e.g. Rough Cuts or Outfidels) as they show the album it could have been.

Blood on the Tracks, Highway 61, or as above, live stuff from 64-66.
    🙂

    Tough one.

Blood on the Tracks is awesome, but I quite like Infidels…a lot of good tracks on that, but depends how much you hate Mark Knopfler.

Only a few more weeks and the Crimbo one goes on heavy rotation to upset the children.

I can’t answer the OP’s question . . . but I just laughed at “I’m a Little Teapot” sung to the tune of “Blowin’ in the Wind” on “I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue”.

Was excellent. The unexpected harmonica had me in stitches.

Anyway, I’m a fence-sitter, so boys midway between “Desire” and “Blood on the Tracks”.

BTW still kicking myself for missing the Dylan musical Girl from the North Country. I am sure it will be on somewhere else but the original cast where superb (saw a bit on the Andrew Marr show)

Nashville Skyline and Desire are right up there. But most listened to is probably the Pat Garrett soundtrack! Amazing album to meditate to.

Oh dear, that kinda shows how much you don’t know about him.

    Bringing It All Back Home
    Highway 61 Revisited
    Blonde on Blonde

For me those three albums between 1965 & 1966 are the height of creativity and I flip between which of them is my favourite depending on how I’m feeling.

Harking back to the best opening lines thread here a while ago:

Oh God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son”

Abe says, “Man, you must be puttin’ me on”

God say, “No.” Abe say, “What?”

God say, “You can do what you want Abe, but

The next time you see me comin’ you better run”

Well Abe says, “Where do you want this killin’ done?”

God says, “Out on Highway 61”
