Tomorrow I had planned to take my mum to the National Arboretum near Tamworth – we’ve booked into a b&b nearby.
The weather is going to be decidedly soggy, so walking around outside is going to be a bad idea. Can anyone familiar with the area offer up some ideas of what to do instead?

As it is my mum’s birthday I am quite happy to spoil her – she had a tough birthday last year and has had to cancel a trip abroad this year. She can’t do a lot of walking/anything too physical.

Take her to go and see the new Mad Max film……and buy the popcorn. If that isnt spoiling her, then I don’t know what is.

Go back into the fray and visit the National Sealife centre followed by a slapup curry?

Arboretum is great but all outdoors obviously.

    Brewery museum at Burton?

Museum of Childhood at Sudbury Hall?

Not far from Ashbourne and bottom of Peak District for a tea shop mooching kind of day?

Red Carpet Cinema at Barton marina. Sofa seating and has a restaurant attached.
    Lichfield Cathedral.
If you go to Sudbury Hall, The Vernon Arms is nice for food and beer.
