I'm planning a tour of the Yorkshire Dales and would appreciate information on well surfaced Bridleways / Byways around the Dales to add some off-road options to a tour. I'll be riding semi-slick tyres so anything that doesn't turn into a quagmire would be good.

The only one I'm aware of is the Roman Road that is south of Hawes.

There are some lovely trails in the Hetton/Grassigton area of the dales. The bridleways going over some of the moors are (relatively) newly surfaced and are a pleasure to ride on. I'd give you exact locations but the OS map is at home. I remember that coming down from Wheats Top they're lovely but not sure about others.

If you could dig out some GRs that would be much appreciated

As far as I can remember neither of the descents from Weets top are surfaced all the way down…
