I got a wood burner last autumn and must confess to loving it (sad ehh!!) . It came with a really nice red welding glove to allow you to put logs in and rearrange the fire sometimes.
After a while I managed to burn a hole in the glove, but, the insulation inside the glove protected me from any burns. So I bought some replacement gloves from eBay… nice and cheap … boy were they cheap.

The replacements had no inside insulation and I am feeling the heat through them…
So I have gone to one of the greatest sources if information on the planet the STW forum…. can anyone recommend me a good welding glove?

All the very best and thanks in anticipation.

Try Arco – branches everywhere and they sell to non-trade.

Although some may be a bit over specced!
    Not cheap!

Don’t know where you’re based but if you have a Mole valley farmers near you they do a really nice welding gauntlet, nice soft leather with internal insulation and well priced.

I am near Rugby.. Midlands…. in the little village of Willey.
Small village but big on cycling. Over 10% of the village are regular cyclists.

Welding gloves come in many thicknesses, depending upon their intended use.

Machine mart do some pretty thick ones, if you have a store nearby, or you can order online (search for red welding gauntlet)

Foundry gloves are better suited to your needs than welders gloves. A bit more expensive but designed to protect from high temps for extended periods.Cyberman maybe a little OTT these but you get the idea.
