I spent 9 days in hospital back in August due to debilitating back pain that turned out to be due to a double prolapse. They administered lumbar epidurals and sent me home.

A few weeks later, I went for a follow-up with the doctor, who said that, due to the MRI showing a solid-looking protrusion, I could have surgery if I wanted. I said no at the time, as everything felt alright.

Only days later, however, I noticed what I can only describe as a ‘strip’ of inflammation across the area where the higher of the two prolapses was, together with a mild-but-sharp pain. I have since gone to the GP who has referred me on, but as I wait, I can’t help but to obsess over it.

Any medical types, or people who have had a similar condition, experience this before?
