Not seen one so I’ll start.

Conditions very different from last week.

A 500mtr BW across a field that normally takes 5minutes to ride turned into a 30 minute drag as the wheels wouldn’t go round

    Cannock Chase.

Loads of frozen snow about, every wheel turn was crunchy. Loads of ice too so I minced all the descents. The way marked trails were much better so I ended there.

Went and tried out our DH skillz (or lack of on my part) at the local DH area.
Got out there early and it was dry and cold. We wrapped up, but and we ended up sweaty and stripped down to a single layer… Finished just as the rain began. Bikes chucked straight into the garage after, just a bit sandy…
Only one dodgy pic of Jr. in his warm gear before we got started. 🙂

Snow’s melted and water levels were a touch higher than normal, this is usually easily rideable…

Turned from rain to fog over course of the ride…

Fortunately we weren’t at risk of losing our bikes in the pea-souper…

    Cannock Saturday too.
Off-piste only. Lots of puddles, lots of great bits and lots of sheet ice on the fire roads.

Two wheel drifting when going straight gets interesting 😯

Five of us at Hamsterley which in the main was frozen solid ..
There is a video on here showing some riders coming to grief which explains what we were up against better than I could describe ..needless to say we didn’t attempt this section (K-line )..or Transmission..
Still what we did do was great and it was good to be out.

Ladybower this morning. Cold, wet, slippery (to the point of being totally impossible in places both up and down).

Yup. It was. Managed to ride down Potato Alley though, and Lockerbrooke was clear (if a bit moist). We finished the ride freezing and soaked, but glad we made the effort. More riders than walkers braving the conditions though (although people in general were thin on the ground – never seen the carpark at Ladybower so empty).
