Off to the Trossachs Ton sportive tomorrow.
Highly looking forward to leaving the house at 05:30 to leave behind forecast sunny weather in Fife for a ride in the rain instead…..
Well didn’t make it out fir a local Forest loop, went on a 50km sociable ride instead with a couple of buddies. Real good laugh, found a few new to us bits and generally had a good craic 😀
Still got Conwy to look forward to tomorrow and it’s going to be another scorcher
visited Kelburn castle to try out their trails as they had an open day. onyl managed one run down the first part of McPinning and then down rootytooty & sheepland.
Thursday was a mellow cruise up the Inners xc route then a bit of death by mud, angry sheep then whatever the route down the side of caddon bank is called. 2017-06-17_07-31-07 by multispeedstu, on Flickr
Friday was a pedal up to old schooldownhill, to descover it’d gone. 2017-06-17_07-30-47 by multispeedstu, on Flickr
Then across to Aussie rules, then down a muddy rut of a trail and a pedal and push up to feed the pony. About to feed the pony. by multispeedstu, on Flickr
Then a quick stop at the cafe and up to green wing, alistair lees and matadore.
Work, house moves, general life getting in the way of things have meant very few miles but back on the roadie today for a very pleasant 35km round Strines moor.
God is forgotten star a nice bike it is to ride. Legs are feeling it now though!
No pics again today, but what a scorcher!!! Mint loop starting in Conwy and taking in Rowen, The Drum, couple of places I can’t spell and finishes on the Conwy Mountain Descent
Pretty successful ride, those roads that were new to me (Glen Artney, Drumloist) were beautiful, quiet and yielded some decent climbing, the landrover track between Glen Artney and Calander was rougher and muddier than expected but still good fun (wishing I’d checked tyre pressures, think they were way to hard).
The Kenda Kwick Tendrils seem to get a bad press but compared to the Schwalbe Marathons that are usually on the bike they felt quick and looked great 8)
Noticed a wee niggle in one of my knees during the ride, got home and found that the seatpost had slipped about 3cm…

That’s on my to do list this year, it’s a fantastic ride
Yes it is. Well worth the final little bit of effort to get to the top of The Conwy Mountain and enjoy the 1.5km descent rather than the roll back down the double track option, which is about as exciting as descending in a road

Agreed, we used to have a static @ aberconwy and I always finished on that footpath singletrack 😉
My skin is intolerant to sunlight, I put factor 50 on every day, so this weather is no good for me.
No riding on Saturday as I was hungover. I waited until dusk tonight and did an hour and a half on the road round here. Just the two near death experiences; An Uber driver passed about 10cm from me Ina roundabout. On the next roundabout (over the M60 at Heaton Park for those that know) I was on the roundabout and a joining car nearly sideswiped me. He pulled over and did apologise, but then said I shouldn’t be on the roundabout as it was over a motorway and that he didn’t see me. I pointed my lights into his car, Knog Grid on the super annoying flashing pattern and also a big Knog Blinder on a flash too. I shook his hand and thanked him for stopping and just asked him to be really careful in future.
Took part in the Overgate Hospice MBC on Sunday morning, a great day, great course and well organised. A great charity to support, as I get older it unfortunately seems more and more people I know are having to make use of it.
Some images tell a thousand words. First (three) Munros by bike for eldest_oab, even if they are the easiest and ugliest. Carn Aosda, Carn a’Gheoidh, The Cairnwell by Matt Robinson, on Flickr
