Now I don’t mind spiders normally but in this case all that comes to mind is:

I initially thought – “wow that’s a lot of spiders”, then noticed the mother-****** at the top and audibly gasped and started reaching for a heavy object…

I think so – google image search “huntsman spider with spiderlings” and prepare to feel a bit scared.

We accidentally brought a huntsman back to UK from Oz.

Must have stowed away in our luggage somewhere. First we knew of it was seeing it on the wall of the bedroom where we had dumped all our bags.

We dispatched it (couldn’t risk setting it free in the English countryside) but it was a bit eye-opening that such a thing was possible. Makes you wonder how many others survive the trip undiscovered.

You should have let your kids take it to school, they could have done a ‘What we found on holiday’ story. 😉 😛

Closely followed by a headline in the local paper about the council burning the school to ashes from orbit to make sure the giant mega-spider could not scare anyone.

That is a pretty fikkin’ big spider.

I love how huntsmen play dead with their legs in their air.

Quick tap with your shoe and it springs to life.

Catching one on the wall is a pain as they are so fast.

It’s like a scene from the movie: Aliens lol.

I used to petrified of spiders until I lived in Oz for a few months. Now I have to accept they are everywhere.

Ants on the walls/carpets even in 5* hotels, flies everywhere in summer, some kind of beetle in the bathrooms or swimming in the loo water…cockroaches too.

Still check my shoes every day even after returning to the U.K.

Don’t go to Oz if you hate insects or heat.
