    Today I used my Tenn shorts for the first time. Was unsure how they would perform, but thought for £18 their worth a punt

    I am impressed so far. Lots of surface water and some driving snow, the shorts performed well. I was warm and not over hot ( must add I use a rear Crud mud guard and it was about 3 degrees) but most importantly dry, from both water and sweat.
    I can’t commend on their breathability or robustly but for todays ride they were spot on.

    think i’ll side step the mudguard idea but thanks anyway

    I read “DH” in the OP, it’s funny how people who don’t ride DH have no idea why we don’t all fit rear mudguards. (The answer is that there’s precious enough clearance between tyre and seat tube on a big landing as it is – 200mm of travel has to go somewhere.)
    But I red trail and DH which is different to DH.
    Most DH riders are not really DH riders at all as for skipping a mudguard your loss.

    Army surplus goretex crackers

    Cut off to required length, add a hem if you want a nice finish. Lovely jubbly.
