So I usually washed my waterproof gear with a product called snow flakes which was originally soap flakes then in liquid form.

Cruising the shelves at various supermarkets over the past few weeks I can’t find either product.

Does anyone know of an alternative which doesn’t cost a load?

Tesco seem to do a liquid jacket wash stuff for waterproofs. I haven’t tried it yet, but from what it said on the label it was supposed to equivalent to the green nikwax and was fairly cheap.

I just buy the nikwax stuff in the bigger containers so it’s not too pricey.

    I use Dri-Pak Soap Flakes. http://www.dri-pak.co.uk/soap-flakes-for-laundry.html
I’ve got it at the supermarket before, it was pretty cheap. Though not bought any for a while. I see Dri-Pak have an online shop, though its a bit expensive with the postage costs.

Boots sell their own brand, pure soap flakes. Very inexpensive.
