I rode with my new Surly Larry on the front for the first time at the Dyfi on Sunday, it was a revelation after the Endomorph I have been using in terms of feeling so 'normal' in terms of steering but with the grip and cushion of the bigger tyre. I did not feel it lost anything in terms of speed of steering compared to a more conventional 2.5 tyre. Grip was fantastic in the conditions, even being pretty god in the mud, but more than anything it 'feels' precise' where the Endomorph was but felt a bit 'wooly'
I'm really glad I tried it.

I would still use the Endomorph in really soft stuff/snow/sandy conditions but for the rest, for me I think Larry rules!
