Malaga airport has loads of flights so its easier to get an early Friday and late Monday itinerary to maximise the trip. Malaga itself is a great place but I usually grab a car and zip off to Tarifa. That can be a bit windy though so the wrong sort of cool in spring.

You can come to our house. The wife’s still got the heating on afterburner.

Madrid should be reasonably warm by then, it’s a good place to visit for a long weekend. Otherwise southern Spain or the Canaries would be the obvious (cheap, Spanish) choice.

If you can get flights in to Almeria, head for San Jose on the Capo de Gata, about half an hour from the airport(on a bus route too if you don’t want to hire a car). Village, big beach, mountains, hot.
