i’ve got an old bike that i’m “doing up” a bit and i’m toying with the idea of a new (2nd hand) fork… and that means the forks i’m looking at are mainly ones with disc mounts….

so could i keep my old levers and just run a cable to a mechanical disc caliper, instead of running it to a v brake? or would need a new lever too?

Same lever. But get some decent quality brake cable outer, as cheap stuff compresses toomuch.

    Awooga!

N2W’s used to run an LX with BB7’s too (eventually went to SD7’s), work perfectly well.

Yup, upgraded wife’s bike (old Shimano / Avid lever) with Vs to MTB BB7 on front, no problem at all.
