    Why the **** not?

You frickin RECOGNISED it yesterday. My OTHER frixin computer recognises it. In fact YOU DO recognise it if I plug it into a different hole! How exactly can that possibly be?

    *knock on door 1*
    "Hello XP, it's me again."
    "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"It's me. Your mate Bob. We've known each other for weeks."
"I don't know you. Go away or I'll call the police."

    *knock on door 2*
"Hello XP, it's me, I thought I'd try a different door."
"Ahh Bob, how ya doing? Come on in. Beer?"

    Bllleeaaaargh! 😡

Sometimes the USB devices are on a different bus and this esp if they are on different sids of the computer putting it into another USB slot works – I know of laptops esp that do this – thus the slots are each treated like a separate device – sometimes drivers for each one (i.e. in the device settings) each are loaded with their own driver so if one gets corrupt in the swap file, memory etc it goes down or has issues with its own configuration. thats what I have gained over the years 🙂
