Any suggestions? Normally do a week or two camping, always have a great time but wondered if anyone had any recommendations for unusual/different/adventurous holidays.

Kids will be 9 and 7.

River camping down the Wye can be great fun.
Have a chat to the lovely people at http://www.monmouthcanoe.co.uk

They can sort you out with canoes, waterproof barrels for your kit and a lift upstream. You can then paddle down and stop at a few choices of campsite en route, or if you fancy one night of luxury, have your last night in the Saracen's Head at Symond's Yat.

Good call, they are good people, have worked with them in the past for 'corporate' style training events, they also supply the canoes for what was the Microsoft UK Challenge.

Aye, they've always looked after us very well when we've used them!

How about a combined thing – Walk to the source of the river, then come downstream a little and play in boats?
