For some reason I thought they had to do it for free? Ee want 8.99 to do it.

8.99 isn’t bad, you probably agreed to it without knowing.

In contract I’d say yes. EE is still free when you are out of contract…

O2 do it for free, somehow I’m not surprised EE charge for what should be free.

That doesn’t seem to mean much to some on here.

I think EE used to charge £20 … so that’s not too bad.

That said, I’m with Vodafone and I think they do one free unlock a year.

I’ve just upgraded with EE and they said they would unlock my old phone for free. It doesn’t need unlocking as I bought it sim free and was on a sim only contract with them, but it’s nice of them to offer 🙂

What phone do you have Wrightyson? Have you tried another sim in it? It seems that very few are locked these days. My son and daughter have iPhone SEs with 3 and they are both unlocked.

The website linked above states all iPhones on ee will be auto unlocked for free after 21 months. I rang last night and tbis one hasnt been done yet so I’ll call back this evening and say I want it doing for free.
