I’ve an older bike with limited tyre clearance, my first choice of tyres is Bontrager but I know they are quite large for the quoted size.

A Bonty 2.35 goes on but you’d struggle to slip a stamp between it and the frame so I’m probably limited to a 2.2 XR4 to get any hint of sensible mud clearance (flexy carbon rear triangle)

How does a 2.35 Bonty measure up to a 2.35 Schwalbe? Or a 2.4 Conti Mountain King?

Its an old Yeti 575 (the frame with the knuckle in the top tube) with a carbon rear end, looking for a square edged tubeless rear tyre for everything (muddy rooty singletrack and welsh/scottish rocky trails) if anyone knows what will fit!

My xr4 2.35 (old model) are massive compared to the Ardent 2.25 they replaced, and bigger than sons Specialized Enduro 2.4 tyre.

    Thanks Matt and Chief 🙂

Found a 2.25 Nobby Nic which is a good fit with adequate clearance so thats a good starting point.
