Help needed! I seem to be on the search for the impossible 🙁

Looking for a small cottage / villa for 2 people in a quiet spot with a private pool in Tuscany (or similar area within a couple of hours drive of Pisa airport). But all I can find are either large, very expensive villas with a private pool, or small appartments with a shared pool. It seems to be difficult to find a small place with a private pool!

Am not hoping that the STW hive will come up with the answer! Anyone got any recommendations? Or suggestions / web links for companies rent small cottages / villas in Italy?

    Cheers!

    Took some finding.

Just south of Pian di Sco

Not actually in Tuscany but almost.
Cheap, nice, quiet (when we were there)

Some good food in town (not gourmet but basic pizzeria and a restaurant) other stuff nearby towns.
Easy enough access to Arezzo/Poppi/Florence/Sienna etc

There is a house on the plot and when we were there the owners were in but they aren’t always there and rent the house also.
Oh and the pool was essentially private when we were there.

    This was 2008 though.

    YES!!!

I think that’s it, just outside montepulchano. Lovely, a bit rustic like all good tuscan locations, food and wine from their own cantina is excellent! Pool on the edge of a field with views for miles. Close to plenty of interesting places, such as bagno vignoni! Ancient roman bathing pools you can still use!
    hope it helps!
    Sniff.

Have a look at Meon Villas. Can’t recommend them highly enough. They have a few places in Tuscany, one of which has two bedrooms, sleep a max of four pople and more importanly they all have proper private pools.

Ah, might be telling lies there. Looks like they’ve changed their policy and some of the places are appartments now. The bigger villas are private, but will cost you more.
