I’m thinking of getting one as currently my exercise = 0

I’ve used one many years ago which used a wheel applying pressure to the tyre to create resistance, it was ok but you couldnt really get much resistance, and bent one frame!

Will a modern one be ok in a basement with baby asleep 2 floors up?

Surely some turbo work has got to be better than no cycling at all?

For me having a bike set up on it permanantly makes it much easier to use. Otherwise swapping over wheels, fixing up the wires for the handlebar mounted read out and so on tends to be enough to put me off. That and getting drenched in sweat. Personally I would rather extend my commute. Even in London I can find good places to do intervals without excessive risk of accidents.

Get a laptop or nearby tv, training dvds or your fave tv programe/tunes.

Get a sweat collector over your bike.

Heart rate and cadence cycle computer.

    Good to go.

Bored? you lot need to train harder-having time to look around your room? pfft.

    😉

Is the Elite Crono Fluid ElastoGel Trainer any good?

Looks good value for money at least, any one used one?

    FunkyDunc,

I just bought one of these! Wiggle delivered it within 24 hrs of ordering. I’ve only really played on it but it is a) very easy to set up and b) VERY quiet. It’s about as basic a trainer as you’ll find; resistance comes from the gears (hard work in biggest gear) and you’ll need other devices for HR, cadence and speed (if you need that info). I’ve got a Garmin and and a chainstay-mount Cateye computer to give me the numbers.

I’ve just bought the discontinued wireless version second hand, it is very quiet, I’m running it with a panaracer mach ss and its fine for watching tv etc.
