My mate has this combo and when trying to examine the state of the Stans in there (has been there for a while) we failed to disengage the bead of the tire from the rim wall.

With my Stans wheels I can often get a good seal formed because of the Stans but I can normally break it away in order to get the tire off, or just broken it away so I can see in side the tire.

But his seemed hellishly well ‘glued-on’ and I gave up for now.

Anybody else seen this and countered it without damaging the rim or tire ?

Just use some soapy water and a plastics tyre lever to run round the bead to assist breaking the seal…….they are a very tight combo in the first place!
