I bought the Stylo team chainset as I can't afford Shimano prices at the moment. I had an old ISIS Stylo chainset some years back and had the same nightmare everyone else had with ISIS. So I thought with the backing of the mighty SRAM, their latest external BB technology should be up to the job.
When I fitted it, I thought, "is that it?" Tightening up one 8mm bolt on the non-drive side seems a flimsy way of securing the chainset and I noticed I couldn't eliminate all play. After half a dozen rides, I still can't get rid of the play and on last night's ride, the BB was creaking really badly.
Do you just put up with the play/creaky BB because the system design is not too good, or have I got a dodgy one?
