Just fitted a new GXP BB and Truvativ Firex chainset and after fitting checked for play of which there is a tiny tiny amount on the non drive side . Soooo i have taken the chainset out again and before refitting, is there any hints or tips from STW regards this (my first time).

My experience of that crankset has not impressed me; have they improved on the 'single 8mm bolt in the end' method of holding the lh crank on. If not, do not leave the house without an 8mm allen key, it'll fall off.

I havealready got this crankset on my susser and have learnt to take an 8mm, and yes it does still use that 8mm.

Its doing my head in, not done this job before so not sure if the play is acceptable, it really is only a tiny bit.

Success, culprit no grease on internal threads on spindle so i couldn't tighten the left crankarm up enough to take up slack, greased and nipped up nicely.
