I have a Diablo(Mk6), and a Maxxd(Mk7).

Both work great on their own - but I've bought a couple of support cells for them recently (8.7 & 3.1), and they don't seem to charge either light while they are switched on. They both charge from the support cells fine when they're switched off, however.

Tests between the GF's MK4 diablo, her support cell(3.1), and my support cells, show that it's only my lights that are affected - both mine and her support cells power her light fine while it's running (the green indicator flashes while the support cell is plugged in, along with the expected increase in runtime)

I've tested a full run-down with my diablo, and it switches off after an hour of full beam, with a fully charged support cell attached :-/

I find it odd that:

both lights have trouble taking a charge when they're running[/*]

both lights will charge from the support cell when they're switched off[/*]
Has anyone come across this before, is there something I haven't spotted that I need to do to make this work for my lights?! I'd like to avoid sending them both to Exposure for inspection if I can!

Pretty sure there's something in the manual about this. Normally when the Diablo is switched on it provides 5v on the accessory port, so it may need programming to accept the support cell.

Just had a thought - try setting the light to one of the low power modes. Could be that it can't accept a charge when on full power.

If not recommend return to Exposure and I wish you the best of luck with that as they have the worst technical support of any company I know. I've never even been able to get through to them on the phone and emails / messages are completely ignored.

Strange how different perceptions can be. I've twice contacted them once for warranty once when I lost the mounting screw and both times they responded quickly and fixed the problems for free.

I guess if they could always give everyone the experience I've had they'd sell even more.

Another thumbs up for exposure CS/ warranty here. Had a couple of lights fixed within a week that had issues after months and months of wet and robust treatment
