When is trolling harmless fun and when is it a bad taste?

this post here is either a story of good citizenship and victory for what is right and proper or just a subtle troll and ego trip. Is it bad that we suspect this is even a troll?

He's promoting the BBB again, that's all it is.

    Very tiresome.

If you post up on a public forum, you can expect pretty much any response. Poster beware.

It's pretty poor taste to slag anyone who's lost a pet/suffering in other ways IMO.

My trolls tend to be fairly obvious and hopefully a little amusing (cucumber woman, photo of mystery daughter) and I normally 'fee up after a while.

Mugging happened but doesn't seem that important today.

FWIW Both cucumber woman, photo of mystery daughter were based on actual events but slightly expanded on for comic effect.
